OUR SPIDER CONTROL PACKAGES

Spider infestations in the UK are on the increase, partly due to non-native spiders such as the False Widow and the Brazilian Wandering Spider finding their way in via imported goods.

Most spider infestations occur during the autumn and winter months, when they come indoors to nest away from the cold. Adult spiders are fully grown at this time too and are much easier to spot.

Although most spiders found in the UK are harmless, an infestation can be very stressful and disruptive.

Signs of a spider infestation if there are spiders in your home, it’s likely that they’re nesting in the loft space or cavity walls. You’ll be able to see a web or several webs, which you should clear away regularly to deter spiders. This way you’ll also be able to tell when a web is newly made or not.

OUR FLEA CONTROL PACKAGES

Flea infestations in the UK are on the increase due to warmer summers and partly due to some popular treatments no longer working on your pet dog or cat and depending on the climate conditions can plague households all year round. 

The most apparent signs of a flea infestation are the black specks that can be found lying around the house. On top of that, the constant scratching of your pet can be an indication. Remember that you don’t need to be a pet owner to have a flea infestation in your house, as the parasites may jump on you while you’re strolling in the nearest park.

Fleas can be found anywhere around us, in your garden or on your carpets. Fleas prefer shady places, which are humid and dusty. But there are several areas that you should inspect if you suspect fleas in your house or on your pets.

If you suspect your dog or cat may be suffering from fleas and causing an infestation in your home, the first thing you should do is comb its coat with a special flea comb. You will often be able to spot fleas or little irregularly shaped black specks dropping from your pet’s coat. These black specks are flea faecal matter! This consists of undigested blood.

Other areas to check for fleas are: Carpet and Rugs, Upholstered Furniture, Pet’s Bedding, Garden (tree barks, around decks, bushes and leaf debris).

OUR SILVERFISH CONTROL PACKAGES

Silverfish are known for their destructive feeding habits being nuisance pest. They can cause a serious problem in large numbers – damaging old books, photographs, wallpaper, plaster and other household items containing starch or cellulose. They are a nocturnal bugs and are especially attracted to food sources like paper, book bindings and damp clothing.

Silverfish survive in most environments, but thrive in conditions of high humidity and can often be found in dark, damp areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, basements, laundry rooms and attics. 

These wingless insects are characterised by their silvery-blue colour, with long antennae and a carrot-shaped body covered with tiny scales. They have a wiggling movement that resembles that of a fish and are also commonly known as fish moths or carpet sharks.

Some signs of having silverfish problem are: yellow stains on clothing and synthetic fabrics, small holes or notches (known as feeding marks) along the edge of paper, books or wallpaper. They can also be found burrowing in unsealed dried food packets.

WASP NEST TREATMENT

Wasps are the blight of the British summer, and these often angry pests can sting even if they aren’t provoked. If you have ever been unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of a wasp sting, you’ll know they can be extremely painful. That’s why you should call professional pest control as soon as possible if you notice a high level of wasp activity in and around your property.

Wasp Nests

Wasp nests are made from chewed wood and saliva and the result is a strong, yet lightweight construction.

There can be up to 20,000 wasps in a nest and some nests can grow to the size of a small car! You’ll often find a wasp nest inside loft spaces, sheds, or inside cavity walls.

Never attempt to remove a wasp nest yourself. Multiple stings can be very dangerous and even life-threatening if you get stung near your mouth or around your airway.

HOW TO GET RID OF PIGEONS..

Pigeons are one of the most common pest birds, especially in urban areas. When they flock to one place and breed, they can be a nuisance and a risk to health. Their droppings look unsightly, and they carry infectious diseases like salmonella and tuberculosis which can spread to humans. Pigeons can also be intimidating and so some people avoid areas where pigeons might be.

RAT CONTROL SERVICES

If you spot a rat in or near your home, the chances are that it’s not going to be alone. Rats cause damage to property, they spread diseases, and they breed quickly, which means that you need to get on top of a rat problem fast. How do I know if I have a rat problem?

Rats usually come out at night, so it’s unlikely you’ll see them during the day. But even if you don’t spot them, there are some unmistakable signs that rats are present in your home:

• Rat droppings: You’ll see dark brown droppings which are roughly the size of a grain of rice. You’ll usually find a lot in the same spot.

• Bite marks: Rats tend to gnaw on objects to file their teeth down. Look out for bite marks on wood and even concrete.

• Movement: If rats are in the walls or under the floor boards, you’ll probably hear them moving around at night.

• Footprints: If you think there are rats in your property, sprinkle some flour on the floor and check it the next day for footprints.

Rats are a risk to health, and because they can chew through wire, wood, and even some types of steel, they can cause extensive damage to your home.

MOUSE CONTROL

They might be smaller and cuter than rats they can cause just as many problems in your home. Their droppings are a risk to health and they can cause structural damage as they chew through things in their path.

The Most Common Mice We Remove From Homes

The most common mice found in homes are the light brown field mouse and the smaller house mouse which is usually brown or grey. Both species are small enough to get into wall cavities, get through small holes, and travel around your home without being seen.

ANT CONTROL

What will we do? We will inspect the house and spray for dust the areas the ants are present, we will look for the nest and where possible treat that too; if we can’t find it the ants will take the insecticide back and kill the nest, it just may take a few hours more.

Bed bug infestations occur because they attach themselves onto hosts and spread easily to non-infested properties. They can come from hostels, hotels, shared accommodation or via second-hand furniture and quickly overrun a home.

How it works…..

We will come and inspect and give you advise 8 times a year, roughly every 6 weeks. If we find anything that shouldn’t be there we will come back or treat it straight away using one of the two ‘free call outs’ thats included in the package. We like to make sure its dealt with really quickly…. you become a VIP priority customer.

We cover the normal intruders including:

Rats, Mice, Ants, Wasps, Silver fish, Flies, Spiders.. anything else we will need to take a look and give you a price (we give a discount too our contract customers so you’ll get that. )
